To make sure your videos look and sound their best, use this checklist to set up your recording space. Following these simple steps will help you create high-quality content every time.

Your Video & Recording Setup Checklist

  • Quiet environment: Record in a space with minimal background noise. Turn off any TVs, music, or other distractions that could be picked up by your microphone.

  • Good lighting: Position yourself so you’re facing a natural light source like a window. If that’s not an option, use a ring light or other lamp to light your face evenly and avoid shadows.

  • Neutral background: Choose a clean, uncluttered background that doesn't distract from you. A blank wall or a simple backdrop works great.

  • Eye-level camera: Position your phone or webcam at eye level. This helps you maintain a direct, engaging connection with your audience. Avoid placing your camera too low, as this can create an unflattering angle.

  • Stable internet connection: A strong Wi-Fi or cellular connection is essential for a smooth teleprompter experience and to ensure your recording uploads without a hitch.

  • Storyy app: Make sure you have the Storyy app downloaded and are logged into your account before you begin.

  • Headphones or external mic (optional): For the best possible audio quality, we recommend using headphones or an external microphone to reduce echo and capture a clear, crisp sound.

With your setup checked off, you're ready to create amazing content! 🚀
