Overview
If you have large files, entire folders of footage, or assets stored on a cloud service like Google Drive or Dropbox, you can easily share them with our editing team by providing a direct link during the project submission process. This saves you from having to download and re-upload large files directly into the app!
Adding a Drive Link to a New Project: Step-by-Step Guide
1. Start a New Project Request
In the Storyy dashboard, click on the + Create button located at the top of the left-hand sidebar, then select Project Request.
2. Fill in Project Details
Input your Project Name and click Next. Then, select your Project Type and click Next again.
3. Access the Link Option
You are now in the "Upload Content" section. Look to the top right side of the Media upload box. You will see a clickable Add Link option (next to a small chainlink icon).
4. Paste Your Link
Click on Add Link. A new window will pop up.
Paste your Google Drive, Dropbox, or other cloud storage link into the text field provided.
Important Note: Please ensure that the permissions for your Google Drive or Dropbox links are set to "Anyone with the link can view" (publicly visible). If the folder is restricted, our team won't be able to access your files to edit them!
5. Add Multiple Links (Optional)
If you have files spread across multiple links, you can click the Add Another button to paste additional URLs.
6. Save and Continue
Once you have pasted your link(s), click the blue Save button. The link will be attached to your project. You can then proceed with the rest of the project submission steps.
FAQs
What if I forgot to adjust the link permissions?
Update your file-sharing settings to "Anyone with the link can view", then re-submit your link in the project.
Can I add both uploaded files and a Drive link to the same project?
Yes! You can upload files directly and also include a Drive link if needed.
What types of links are supported?
Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and other file-sharing services that allow public or viewable links.
